Sanlam Life Insurance Zambia Limited invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of Driver.
Job Summary
The Driver will operate under the Human Capital Department and provide transportation and logistics support to the Human Capital and Finance functions, and other departments as required. The role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of employees, visitors, documents, and company assets while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, customer service, and compliance with road safety regulations.
The successful candidate will be expected to represent the organisation positively, ensure the roadworthiness of assigned vehicles, and contribute to the efficient delivery of business operations through reliable transport services.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport employees, visitors, and company property to designated locations.
- Ensure timely collection and delivery of documents, parcels, and other company materials.
- Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and roadworthiness of the assigned vehicle at all times.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and routine vehicle inspections and report defects, faults, or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Monitor scheduled servicing and coordinate maintenance activities to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Maintain valid vehicle documentation, including licences, insurance, road tax, and other statutory requirements.
- Plan and select efficient travel routes to minimise delays and ensure punctuality.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
- Practise defensive driving techniques and proactively identify road safety risks.
- Maintain accurate records of trips undertaken, mileage covered, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
- Provide transportation and logistical support to the Human Capital, Finance, and other business units as required.
- Support company meetings, workshops, events, and other organisational activities requiring transport services.
- Report accidents, incidents, traffic violations, or vehicle damage in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure the security and confidentiality of company information, documents, and assets during transportation.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demonstrate courteous conduct when interacting with employees, customers, service providers, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Perform any other duties reasonably assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years' professional driving experience, preferably within a corporate environment.
- Good knowledge of local routes, road networks, and traffic regulations.
- Demonstrated accident-free driving record will be an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Trade Test Certificate or Craft Certificate in Motor Mechanics or a related field will be an added advantage.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English. Knowledge of local languages will be an added advantage.
